In addition to the claim from "Muserk Rights Management", I also received an indication from YouTube that other unknown CMOs are claiming rights ownership. Are these suspicious groups?

Answer

It is possible that foreign CMOs that are entrusted by JASRAC to administer JASRAC repertoire in certain territories are making claims.
Videos uploaded to YouTube in Japan can also be viewed overseas. JASRAC has entrusted CMOs around the world to grant licenses and collect royalties for the use of JASRAC's repertoire. Since videos containing JASRAC's domestic repertoire that are made available for and viewed in certain territories outside Japan are administered by our sister CMOs in their respective territories, they will make claims on YouTube.

Example of Foreign CMOs entrusted by JASRAC:
BMI (USA), SOCAN (Canada), SABAM (Belgium), SIAE (Italy), APRA (Australia), CASH (Hong Kong), COMPASS (Singapore), FILSCAP (the Philippines), KOMCA (South Korea), MACP (Malaysia), MUST (Taiwan), WAMI (Indonesia), etc.

Please refer to “CMOs affiliated with JASRAC”to learn more about our affiliated organizations. Claims made by these organizations regarding rights of JASRAC's domestic repertoire are legitimate. If you receive an indication from YouTube regarding a claim from such an organization, do not worry, as it is not a claim of copyright infringement against the uploader of the videos.
